Surface finishes
Every natural stone in the Atreum catalog can be specified in a range of surface finishes. Finish selection affects appearance, reflectance, slip resistance, and long-term maintenance.
- — 01
Polished
A high-gloss, reflective surface. Polishing deepens colour saturation, accentuates veining, and produces the most formal, traditional reading of the material. Common across countertops, feature walls, and signature flooring.
- — 02
Honed
A smooth, matte surface with no gloss. Honing softens colour and produces a calmer, more contemporary reading. Frequently specified for floors, vanities, and interiors where reflection is undesired.
- — 03
Leathered
A textured, subtly tactile finish that retains the depth of colour of a polished surface while introducing a soft hand. Popular on darker granites and quartzites for residential kitchens.
- — 04
Brushed
A softly worn, antiqued surface produced by mechanical brushing. Suited to travertines and softer marbles where a lived-in, classical reading is desired.
- — 05
Flamed
A rugged, exterior-grade finish produced by thermal treatment. Highly slip-resistant. Specified for outdoor paving, façades, and high-grip flooring.
- — 06
Sandblasted
A fine, even matte texture with subtle relief. Used for exterior cladding, signage, and contemporary façades.
- — 07
Filled / Unfilled
Specific to travertines. Filled travertine closes the natural pore structure for a smoother working surface; unfilled travertine retains the natural pores for a more raw, textural reading.
